He was exonerated from assessment for lands in Derby and Stafford on 10 October.〔''Memoranda Roll of 22 Edward III''〕 Battle of Poitiers *Sir Ellis Hicks was knighted by Edward, the Black Prince (Eldest son of Edward III and father to Richard II), 1356.
